Transforming the lives of
severely disabled children
and their families

About The Big Splash Trust

The Big Splash Trust is an independent charity which has its origins in Jack Tizard School  in West London, an Ofsted-rated “outstanding” school for children with severe and multiple learning difficulties and complex needs.

Our work is underpinned by the following values:

  • Supporting the whole family including siblings.
  • Providing practical and hands-on support.
  • Securing fun based activities with wider learning opportunities.
  • Involving families in shaping the support offered.

Why is this important?

  • Local leisure facilities such as swimming pools are often not accessible to disabled children so families cannot play together.
  • Ongoing illness can mean that severely disabled children miss out.
  • We can give specialist support to children with challenging behaviors which can be hard to come by.

Our Priorities

Our priority is to secure funding so that all local severely disabled children and young people and their families can continue to enjoy our state-of-the-art hydrotherapy pool, other play facilities, and arts based activities after school, at weekends and in the holidays. We call this, Making a Splash.
